Lydia Marshall works within a process led sculptural/installation based practice. Predominately centred around repetition, Marshalls work is highly rhythmic, systematic, yet playful. Synthesised through the use of commonplace materials and processes. Take; concrete, cassette tapes, a boat, morse code, she is able to induce a tangibility into her work to create detailed semblance.
Marshall research’s into familiar and repetative routines in the everyday, larger industrial scale production and labour based contexts. She attempts to interrogate our usual familiarisation of objects/material in order to provoke questioning of ideas surrounding them.
